Andrew Slusher

President and CEO

As president, Andrew Slusher leverages his experience in all facets of the transportation industry to help sustain SMC³ as the customer-focused authority on data and technology solutions. Throughout his 25-year career, which includes leadership positions with American Airlines, Sabre Holdings, YRC Worldwide and MIQ Logistics, Slusher has consistently focused on providing an outstanding customer experience, and developing new and innovative product offerings to ensure market relevance and on-going fiscal strength. Highlights include:

  • Leading the Transportation Management and Truckload Brokerage functions at third-party logistics provider MIQ Logistics
  • Representing technology provider Sabre Holdings as vice president, program executive, to guide a major software implementation project for Air Berlin in Berlin; he also served as managing director of global airline sales and marketing
  • Serving as vice president of pricing and yield management at LTL carrier Yellow Transportation and YRC Worldwide; at YRC, he also served as vice president of finance during the last two years of his tenure
  • Launching industry-leading pricing and revenue management systems at American Airlines; he also played an instrumental role in planning and implementing a world-class pricing and revenue management system at Canadian Airlines International

Drawing from his familiarity with carrier, 3PL, transportation and technology companies – all while serving the increasingly complex needs of shippers – Slusher brings a balanced and informed view of SMC³’s verticals, positioning the company for a strong future.

Andrew Slusher holds an MBA in finance from Texas Christian University and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Danny Slaton

Chief Data Officer

Danny Slaton is SMC³’s Chief Data Officer. As the head of data at SMC³, Slaton focuses on providing high-quality solutions to customers while also delivering data-fueled innovations to meet the shifting needs and desires of SMC³ clients and to address new supply chain challenges.

With more than 25 years of experience communicating with carriers, shippers, logistics providers and technology developers, Slaton brings incredible insight and continuity to the business. The industry values his expertise in LTL benchmarking, pricing dynamics, supply chain operational practices, and the roles of technology and 3PLs within the transportation industry.

Slaton holds an MFA from Indiana University.

Brian Thompson

Chief Commercial Officer

As chief commercial officer, Brian Thompson oversees SMC³’s sales, marketing and industry education departments. Before joining SMC³, Thompson worked at YRC Worldwide for 17 years, most recently serving as vice president of pricing and yield management. During his time at the carrier, he gained experience in pricing, sales operations and sales strategy, serving as a leader in developing customer-centric solutions.

As a long-time industry expert, Thompson helps tailor SMC³ tools to address new developments and changes in the transportation arena. His vast experience serving shippers and 3PLs gives him a detailed understanding of what these customers need in a transportation solutions provider.

Thompson holds an MBA from the University of Missouri and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Truman State University.

Tom Monheim

Chief Financial Officer

As the CFO of SMC³, Tom Monheim directs SMC³’s financial planning, legal and accounting practices.

Monheim has more than 25 years of leadership experience across finance, pricing, strategy, technology and product development. Having served industry-leading companies in transportation and manufacturing – including Yellow Transportation, Sabre Corporation, Rheem and Ingersoll Rand – he brings a unique blend of business intellect and customer perspective to the organization.

Monheim holds an MBA in finance from the University of Texas at Austin, along with a bachelor’s degree in finance from Oklahoma State University.

Kevin Springer

Vice President of Sales

Kevin Springer is vice president of sales at SMC³, where he is responsible for the development and support of all SMC³ end-user shipper, carrier and logistics relationships. As a member of the executive strategy team, Springer contributes to future product and company direction.

Springer has direct carrier experience with Emory Worldwide, supply chain logistics experience with EGL/CEVA, and EDI, and supply chain visibility experience with Descartes Systems Group. With more than 20 years of experience in the transportation, logistics and supply chain industries, his knowledge of sales, operations and IT processes helps SMC³ customers leverage pricing technology to better manage their supply chains.

Springer holds an MBA from Brenau University and a BBA in marketing from Georgia State University.

Beth Malik

Director of Marketing

As director of marketing for SMC³, Beth Malik is responsible for setting the strategic direction of all marketing and communication initiatives.

Malik brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing, product and brand management, and transportation and supply chain management to her current marketing leadership role. Today, she leverages her experience and the talents of her award-winning team to showcase SMC³’s unparalleled value to customers.

She serves on the board of directors for the Transportation Sales & Marketing Association, advancing its mission to provide knowledge, connections, and solutions to marketing, sales and communications professionals in North American transportation.

Malik received an MBA from Emory University and a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management from Penn State University.

Ruth Reynolds

Director of Human Resources

Ruth Reynolds directs SMC³’s human resources department, developing strategies for workforce planning, pay-for-performance, talent, succession planning and diversity management.

With 29 years of human resources experience, she draws from a diverse background that spans international banking, logistics, the public sector and non-profits to ensure that SMC³ has the human capital to thrive in today’s marketplace. On a daily basis, customers benefit indirectly from Reynolds’ expertise in working effectively with diverse employee groups across multiple locations. And her lifelong career in human resources has instilled in her the importance of talent management and succession planning to ensure SMC³’s viability for a strong future.

She holds a PHR credential from the HR Certification Institute and is a certified professional with the Society for Human Resources Management.

Tom Swinson

Director of Industry & Education Services

As director of industry and education services, Tom Swinson is responsible for the planning and development of SMC³’s industry-leading conferences, seminars and on-line learning initiatives.

Swinson’s experience in the global transportation industry spans 30 years and includes:

  • Directing the marketing, commercial communications, and sales support efforts for the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA), where his responsibilities included oversight of the Georgia Foreign Trade Conference.
  • Working with a transportation consulting firm specializing in logistics marketing, advertising and public relations, where his accounts included Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, the Georgia Ports Authority, United Arab Shipping Company, and Maher Terminals.

His proven success in directing events and delivering customer-driven course content positions SMC³ for continued thought leadership in industry education and learning.

Swinson has a degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of Georgia.

David Walker

Senior Vice President, Operations

As the senior vice president of operations, David Walker provides leadership on pricing and strategic initiatives for SMC³, and he also oversees the continuing integration of Transportation Costing Group into the SMC³ family of products.

Walker has more than 25 years of experience in leadership roles at companies like Hallmark Cards, YRC Freight and Warren, Mich.-based Central Transport. During that time, he honed his reputation as a skilled strategist who has leveraged business planning and project management skills to implement change, create efficiencies, grow profitable revenue and improve the bottom line.

Walker holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Missouri – Kansas City
