SMC³ Appoints Transportation Veteran Charlie Prickett to Board of Directors
Prickett brings decades of proficiency in less-than-truckload transportation to the board
Atlanta – Mar. 16, 2022 – SMC³ (www.smc3.com) continues to expand the expertise of its Board of Directors with the appointment of Charlie Prickett, President and Chief Operating Officer at AAA Cooper Transportation, an independent subsidiary of Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings (NYSE:KNX). Prickett brings many years of experience across multiple modes of transportation and related supply chain and logistics services to the SMC³ board.
Prickett joined AAA Cooper Transportation more than two decades ago, and he was named president in 2020. Less than a year later, he successfully navigated the company’s merger with Knight-Swift, which created a formidable transportation entity that combines AAA’s extensive less-than-truckload (LTL) capabilities with Knight-Swift’s established truckload offerings.

Prickett recently led a leadership series discussion at SMC³’s Jump Start 2023 conference, providing his outlook from the helm of AAA Cooper. The award-winning company is one of the top 50 largest ground transportation companies in the U.S and was named a Top 100 Trucker by Inbound Logistics in 2022. AAA Cooper provides asset-based multi-regional transportation solutions to the South, Southwest and Midwest. Based in Dothan, Alabama, AAA Cooper has 3,400 transportation tractors, 8,200 trailers and 6,200 total employees.

Prickett is a graduate of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, and is on the advisory board of the Auburn Center for Supply Chain Innovation (CSCI). The Auburn University CSCI serves as a research facility for scholars, students, and external partners to advance knowledge, drive thought leadership, and create practical solutions for supply chain stakeholder communities.
